David Igbinedion

David Igbinedion MASc., E.I.T. has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. David Igbinedion currently works as a Tailings Engineer at New Gold Inc. In their previous role as a Geotechnical EIT at Englobe, they performed construction site inspections, supported engineering design, and analyzed findings from investigations and lab testing.

Prior to Englobe, David worked at Paterson Group Inc. as a Geotechnical EIT and Materials EIT. In these roles, they conducted geotechnical site investigations, monitored civil-geotechnical instrumentation, and conducted precision survey monitoring of civil structures.

Before joining Paterson Group Inc., David worked at Carleton University where they served as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant. As a TA, they led problem analysis and tutorial sessions, marked assignments and exams, and prepared students for lab experiments. As a Research Assistant, they conducted lab tests on oil sands tailings and soils, collaborated with fellow researchers, and presented results at meetings and conferences.

David also gained experience as a Bounce Back Mentor at Carleton University, where they mentored and helped first-year students academically and personally. In addition, they served as a Project Manager/Research Assistant at Tembo, leading an environmental consulting team to improve water quality in Tanzania.

David Igbinedion completed their Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Environmental Engineering at Carleton University from 2011 to 2016.
