Cosimo Tangorra Jr., Ed.D. currently serves as the Superintendent of Schools for New Hartford Central Schools, a position held since October 2021. Prior to this role, Tangorra was the Superintendent of Schools for Niskayuna Central School District from June 2015 to October 2021 and held the position of Deputy Commissioner P-12 Education at the New York State Education Department for a brief period from July 2014 to June 2015. Tangorra's extensive experience also includes serving as Superintendent for Central Valley / Ilion Central School District (August 2008 - July 2014), TRUMANSBURG CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT (July 2004 - July 2008), and OPPENHEIM-EPHRATAH CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT (July 2002 - June 2004). Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from The Sage Colleges-Sage Graduate School, a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from the State University of New York Cortland, a Master of Science in Special Education from The College of St. Rose, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Siena College, and an Associate of Arts in Social Science from Herkimer County Community College.
