Substitute Violist at New Haven Symphony Orchestra

Gregory Williams is an accomplished violist and educator with extensive experience in both performance and teaching. Currently serving as the Strings Orchestra Coordinator and Instructor of Violin and Viola at Sacred Heart University since August 2025, Gregory also holds the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor in Viola at the Aaron Copland School of Music, CUNY Queens College, since August 2012, where courses taught include Upper String Methods and Chamber Music. As a performer, Gregory is a Substitute Violist for various orchestras, including the New Haven Symphony Orchestra and the Albany Symphony Orchestra, and has held significant roles such as Assistant Principal Viola with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic. Gregory's academic background includes a Doctorate of Musical Arts from The Graduate Center, City University of New York, and a Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music, complemented by a Bachelor of Music from Boston University. Additionally, Gregory has performed with Distinguished Concerts International New York at prestigious venues like Avery Fisher Hall and Carnegie Hall.
