Karen Russell has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and positions. Karen started their career as a Case Manager at the Town of Hempstead in 1993 and worked there until 1995. From 1995 to 2001, they served as a Service Coordinator at New Hope Community, Inc. Karen then transitioned into the role of Director of Quality Assurance at the same organization from 2001 to 2013. Following this, they worked as the Director of Corporate Compliance from 2013 to 2014. Karen then served as the Assistant Executive Director from 2014 to 2018. Karen further progressed to become the Vice President of Clinical and Regulatory Operations from 2018 to 2021. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Operating Officer at New Hope Community, Inc. from 2021. Throughout their career, Karen has been involved in various aspects of organizational management, strategic planning, financial viability, stakeholder engagement, human resources, systems development, and philanthropic positioning.
Karen Russell earned a Master of Jurisprudence degree in Health Care Law from Widener University-Delaware Law School, attending from 2014 to 2017. Prior to this, they pursued a Master of Social Work degree with a specialization in Gerontology at Canyon College from 2004 to 2007. Karen's undergraduate studies were completed at the State University of New York College at Oneonta, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from 1988 to 1992.
In terms of additional certifications, Karen Russell obtained certification in Health Care Compliance from the Compliance Certification Board in August 2012. Karen also received certification as a Personal Outcome Measures® Certified Interviewer from the Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL), although the specific month and year of completion are unknown.
