Atam Dhawan is a distinguished academic and leader in the field of research and innovation, serving as a member of the Board of Directors for the National Academy of Inventors since February 2024. At the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Atam has held multiple key roles including Senior Vice Provost for Research, where responsibilities encompass the administration of the university's research enterprise and promotion of interdisciplinary collaboration. Previously, Atam served as Executive Director of both the Center for Translational Research and the Undergraduate Research and Innovation program, fostering excellence in collaborative research and entrepreneurship. With extensive experience in leadership positions, including Chair of the Independent Expert Board for the NIH Point-Of-Care Technology Research Network, Atam has significantly contributed to advancing healthcare technologies and education in engineering.
