Mark Gross is an accomplished jazz musician and educator with extensive experience in music performance and instruction. Currently serving as the Director of Jazz Instruction at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center since August 2015, Mark Gross develops a comprehensive music syllabus and oversees performance opportunities for students. As an alto saxophonist, recording artist, and educator for MGQ Records, LLC since 1997, Mark Gross is known for blending classic jazz elements with contemporary influences. Mark Gross's previous experience includes a role as a part-time lecturer in jazz saxophone at Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts from 2010 to 2018 and a faculty position in saxophone and theory at Wachovia Jazz for Teens at NJPAC from 2001 to 2009. Mark Gross holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Performance from Berklee College of Music and has also studied at Howard University and Baltimore School for the Arts.
