Omar Elmessalamy

Omar Elmessalamy, P.E. serves as the Director of Equipment Design and Engineering at NJ TRANSIT, where responsibilities include managing bus acquisitions and overseeing vehicle design and production inspections. Omar is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at CUNY New York City College of Technology, teaching various mechanical engineering courses, and previously held an adjunct professorship at Passaic County Community College. Earlier experience includes roles at New York City Transit as a Mechanical Engineer focusing on bus design and regulatory compliance, as well as positions at Emerson Industrial Automation and Essex County College, where responsibilities ranged from technical support to AutoCAD drafting. Omar holds a Master of Science in Engineering/Industrial Management and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
