Karen Skalitzky

Karen Skalitzky is an accomplished executive in the field of education and communications, currently serving as the Executive Director of Communications & Advocacy at New Leaders since July 2017. Skalitzky's leadership focuses on brand strategy and stakeholder engagement to enhance the organization's national reputation and drive student success. Previously, as Senior Director of Proposals and Strategic Communications at New Leaders, Skalitzky developed impactful sales-enablement content and promoted a customer-centric organizational culture. With over a decade of experience as Owner & Director of KMS Educational Consulting, Skalitzky advanced thought leadership in early brain development and secured significant funding to support educational reforms. Earlier roles include serving as a Literacy Specialist at the University of Chicago and as a Literacy Coordinator at Alain Locke Charter Academy. Skalitzky holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Psychology from Northwestern University and a Master's in Literacy Education from the University of Michigan.
