Chief Operating Officer at New London Hospital

Lori Underwood has nearly 35 years of work experience in the healthcare industry. Lori began their career as an Administrator/Leader at Advantage Health Corporation in 1986 and held this position for a decade. In 1996, they became an Administrator at WHITTIER REHABILITATION HOSPITAL before transitioning to the role of Chief Executive Officer at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in 1998. Lori led HealthSouth as CEO for seven years before joining New London Hospital in 2005. At New London Hospital, Lori held various roles, including Senior Director of Projects and Planning, Senior Director of Quality Improvement, Vice President of Quality Improvement & Patient Safety, Vice President of Ambulatory Care Services, and most recently, they became the Chief Operating Officer in April 2021.

Lori Underwood has a strong education background, with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) earned from Southern New Hampshire University between 1992 and 1994. Prior to that, they attended the University of New Hampshire from 1979 to 1983, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Occupational Therapy.
