Danushka Abeyasekera

Danushka Abeyasekera has a diverse work experience in research and development and quality control in the cosmetics industry. Danushka held various roles at New Look Cosmetics, Inc., including Director of Research and Development, Director of Quality Control, and Account Manager. Prior to that, they worked as a Research and Development Manager, Regulatory Administrator, and Quality Control Manager at the same company. Danushka also worked as a Research and Development Chemist and Quality Control Chemist at New Look Cosmetics, Inc.

Before joining New Look Cosmetics, Inc., Danushka Abeyasekera worked as an Assistant Chemist at GAR Labs. Danushka also gained experience as a Research Assistant at the University of California, Riverside, and as a Lab Assistant at the California Institute of Technology.

Danushka Abeyasekera completed their undergraduate research in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Caltech from 2003 to 2007. They then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at the University of California, Riverside, graduating in 2011. Continuing their education, Danushka earned a Master of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences with an emphasis in Cosmetic Science from the University of Cincinnati between 2013 and 2016. They also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Cosmetic Science from the University of Cincinnati in August 2015.

In terms of additional certifications, Danushka completed the Complete Cosmetic Chemist Training Program from Cosmetics & Toiletries Science Applied in August 2013. In January 2013, they obtained a certification in Documentation and Record Keeping from the BioPharma Institute Program. Most recently, in June 2020, Danushka earned a certification in Effective Listening from LinkedIn.
