Arthur VanderVeen is an accomplished leader in the education and nonprofit sectors, currently serving as President & CEO of New Meridian Corporation, an assessment services organization dedicated to enhancing student readiness for college and careers. Previously, VanderVeen held positions including Vice President of Business Strategy & Development at Compass Learning, where strategic partnerships significantly contributed to company growth, and Chief of Innovation at the New York City Department of Education, overseeing initiatives that transformed educational practices for numerous schools and students. Earlier career experiences include founding ActiveInk Corporation and serving as Executive Director at College Board, where efforts focused on promoting college readiness assessments. VanderVeen's educational background includes a Ph.D. in English from The University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor's degree in English from Colorado College.
