New Mexico Cancer Center- New Mexico Oncology Hematology Consultants, LTD

New Mexico Cancer Center (NMCC) is an independent, multi-disciplinary, multi-site practice operated by New Mexico Oncology Hematology Consultants Ltd. It was founded by Dr. Clark Haskins and Dr. Barbara McAneny in 1987, and from the very beginning the practice has been dedicated to providing the highest quality, most compassionate, comprehensive, patient-centered cancer care in New Mexico, focusing first on patients and their needs. During the past fifteen years, the practice has grown statewide. In 2002, NMCC opened its flagship comprehensive cancer center in Albuquerque, just north of Paseo del Norte and west of I-25, offering medical and radiation oncology, chemotherapy infusion, radiation therapy, imaging, laboratory and pharmacy services in one site that has increased in size to over 82,000 square feet. We strongly believe that in a rural state like New Mexico, it is important to make every effort to bring care to patients living at significant distances from major centers. Several years after opening our Albuquerque facility, NMCC opened a second comprehensive cancer care facility in Gallup, NM, for the first time bringing cancer care to western New Mexico and the Navajo Nation, saving patients many hours of difficult and often prohibitively expensive travel that in years past had resulted in many receiving incomplete and inadequate care and poor outcomes. Innovation and National Leadership We are especially proud of having been the nation's lead practice in developing a national model for Oncology Medical Homes to provide better care at a lower cost by pathway-driven expanded outpatient care and keeping patients out of the hospital. This was made possible by the awarding of a substantial grant from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation in 2012. NMCC's COME HOME Model model became the basis for the Oncology Care Model, now being adopted by oncology practices nationwide. Wide Range of Onsite Services Our centers offer the full range of onsite oncology care, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, imaging, laboratory and rheumatology services. The Albuquerque facility is pleased to also offer the convenience of a dispensing pharmacy open to the general public as well as to our patients. Thank you Your Strongest Ally to Conquer Cancer!
