Austin Smith

Austin Smith has significant experience in the field of information technology and administration. Austin is currently working as the Chief Information Officer at the New Mexico Office of the Attorney General since 2023. Before that, they served as the Chief Technology Officer at Bernalillo County District Attorney's office from 2021 to 2023. In this role, they led data/application and help desk teams, implemented new talent recruitment strategies, and provided guidance to contracted companies for software design.

Prior to that, Austin worked as an IT Applications Developer at the same organization from 2021 to 2021. Austin developed custom Django applications for evidence management and tracking, as well as document template creation and data integration.

Before joining the Bernalillo County District Attorney's office, Austin was a Systems Administrator at A2Z Computers and Networking from 2019 to 2020. Austin researched and implemented industry security protocols, migrated large-scale business servers, and installed and configured dental scanning devices.

Austin also has experience as an IT Support Technician at Double Eagle Elementary School from 2018 to 2019, a Website Developer/Systems Administrator at Slush Sites from 2016 to 2019, a Teacher Apprentice at Bandelier Elementary School from 2015 to 2016, and an Inventory Auditor at Noble Collectibles from 2013 to 2014.

Austin started their career as a Shift Manager at Arby's in 2008, worked as a Team Trainer at Target from 2012 to 2013, and served as a Cash Office Associate at Kmart Corporation from 2010 to 2012.

Throughout their career, Austin has demonstrated expertise in various IT roles, including project management, application development, system administration, and IT support. Austin possesses strong skills in programming languages such as SQL, HTML, CSS, and Python.

Austin Smith completed an Associate of Science degree in Physics, Computer Science, and Mathematical Sciences from Central New Mexico Community College from 2016 to 2018. Prior to this, Austin obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from the University of New Mexico from 2010 to 2016. Additionally, Austin received a Doctor's Degree in Metaphysics from the Universal Life Church in 2021.
