Sylvia Acosta, Ph.D., currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the New Mexico State University Foundation since September 2023. Prior to this role, Acosta held the position of Chief Growth Officer and Senior Vice President at the National Minority Supplier Development Council from August 2022 to September 2023, and served as Chief Executive Officer at the YWCA from January 2017 to August 2022, leading the largest YWCA in the United States. Acosta's experience includes serving as Assistant Vice Chancellor at UC Irvine, where oversight included principal and transformational gift activities across multiple schools, along with previous roles as Associate Vice President at The University of Texas at El Paso and Assistant Dean at New Mexico State University. Acosta holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from The University of Texas at Austin, a Master's degree in Political Science with a focus on National Security Policy Studies from St. Mary's University, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration from New Mexico State University.
