Corey Chao

Corey Chao is a seasoned professional in design and public innovation, currently serving as the Head of the Public Spaces Incubator at New_ Public since April 2023. Prior experience includes roles as Design Director at Reboot, where leadership involved guiding teams in creative development and research for public sector initiatives, and Strategic Designer at Bloomberg Philanthropies, focused on coaching city leaders in innovation. Notable engagements also include founding the Sparks Laboratory for Driverless Governance, serving as Service Designer at Code for Philly, and working as a Graduate Researcher at both DESIS Network and the Regional Plan Association. Corey's educational background includes an MFA in Transdisciplinary Design from Parsons School of Design and a BA in Cultural Anthropology from Haverford College.
