Jeremy Barnes has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Jeremy currently serves as the VP of Finance at New Realm Brewing since January 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Controller at the same company from November 2021 to January 2023.
From March 2020 to November 2021, Jeremy worked as a Controller at Elk River Club. Before that, they held the position of a Senior Finance & Managing Member at Appalachian Community Investments from April 2017 to November 2021. In this role, they were responsible for asset management, daily operations, accounting, finance, contracts, procurement, and strategic planning. Jeremy also evaluated potential acquisitions.

Additionally, they directed a major project involving the conversion from QuickBooks to SAP ERP system.
Jeremy began their career as a Police Officer at the City of Statesville from October 2004 to April 2013. Jeremy then worked as a Corporal at Hoke County Sheriff's Office from June 2002 to September 2004. Prior to their career in law enforcement, Jeremy served as a Sergeant in the US Army from August 1993 to June 2002. Jeremy also gained internship experience at Grant Thornton LLP in 2015.
Jeremy Barnes earned a Master of Science (M.S.) in Accounting from Appalachian State University, where they studied from 2015 to 2016. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in Accounting at the same university, from 2013 to 2015. Before pursuing their bachelor's degree, Jeremy attended Mitchell Community College from 2008 to 2010, where they obtained an Associate in Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice. In addition to their formal education, Jeremy Barnes obtained a Notary Public certification from the North Carolina Secretary of State in January 2013.
