Fernandez Kimberly is an experienced professional with a diverse background in administrative support, operations management, and youth services. Currently serving as an Executive Assistant and Communications Specialist at New River Community Action since June 2022, Fernandez has previously held key positions, including Assistant Operations Manager at Virginia Tech - Dining Services, where responsibilities included budget planning and customer relations. Additional experience includes roles as Shift Supervisor at the New River Valley Juvenile Detention Home and Director at Precious Moments Day Care, focusing on safety, compliance, and personnel management. New River Community Action
New River Community Action is a non-profit organization working hand-in-hand with community groups to address local conditions of poverty in the New River Valley (Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Radford, and Pulaski), Virginia. We work with our community's most vulnerable residents including the homeless and ex-offenders. We also offer programs to low-income families with young children. We serve about 12,000 New River Valley residents each year. We are part of a network of approximately 1,000 community action agencies nationwide and we recently celebrated our 50th anniversary!
