David Henderson

Founder and CEO at New Scale Technologies

David Henderson has over 35 years of experience in the technology industry. In 1983, they began their career as a Program Manager at Contraves USA. In 1991, they became the Director of Positioning Products at Burleigh Instruments, Inc., where they were responsible for the P&L of the Positioning Products Business Unit, including sales, marketing, research and development. David led the development of precision positioning products, markets and applications. In 2000, they were appointed Director of Photonics Automation at EXFO-Burleigh Products Group. In 2002, they founded New Scale Technologies, Inc., where they were the Founder and CEO. David is the inventor of the SQUIGGLE and UTAF motors and tiny motion systems for mobile phone cameras and applications in industrial, medical, astronomy, aerospace and defense markets. In 2018, they founded New Scale Robotics, Inc., where they are the Founder and CEO. New Scale Robotics makes smart automation tools for flexible manufacturing. Their products plug-and-play with collaborative robots to create agile solutions, with rapid return on investment (ROI), for high-mix, small-batch manufacturing operations.

David Henderson attended Carnegie Mellon University from 1979 to 1983, where they earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering. David then attended Carnegie Mellon University - Tepper School of Business from 1987 to 1991, where they earned an MS in Business.
