New Way Academy
Cynthia Spencer LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience, currently serving at Daisy Mountain Family Therapy and New Way Learning Academy since January 2009. Prior to these roles, Cynthia worked as a counselor at St Paul's Academy from May 2007 until December 2009. Educational credentials include a Master of Counseling from the University of Phoenix (2000-2004) and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Central Michigan University (1991-1995).
New Way Academy
In 1968, New Way Academy opened the door to a new way of learning for a growing population of students who were smart, motivated, curious and fun loving children; but had difficulties learning in a traditional school setting. Nearly 50 years later, New Way has firmly established itself as Arizona’s premier K-12 independent day school catering to children with learning differences such as dyslexia, ADHD and executive functioning difficulties. New Way combines research-based teaching, personalized instruction and small class sizes (7:1 “student-to-teacher” ratio) that turn academic frustration into enlightenment. Each student’s curriculum is planned around educational needs and abilities based on thorough academic, psycho-educational, speech and language and motor skills assessments. Students are taught concepts and subjects in ways they understand, which builds self-esteem and confidence in the classroom.
