Clay Johnson has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Clay started their career in the United States Marine Corps, where they served as an Officer in the Infantry. During their time in the Marines, they gained extensive front-line leadership experience and held roles as an operations officer and personnel officer.
After leaving the Marines, Clay joined Pfizer in 1993, where they held various roles in sales, marketing, operations, and management. Clay was responsible for sales efforts in the neurology and psychiatry portfolio in the Western US, leading a team of 12 direct reports and 150 specialty sales representatives. Additionally, Clay served as the Director of Kaiser Sales, overseeing a team of 35 institutional account managers.
In 2007, Clay joined Allergan as a Regional Sales Director, where they continued to excel in driving sales efforts. Clay held this position until 2018, when they joined Azimuth Consulting as the Principal/Founder for a short period of time before joining Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals.
At Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, Clay held the role of National Sales Director for Ophthalmology, Autoimmune, and Rare Diseases. Clay successfully led the sales team and contributed to the company's growth until 2021.
Most recently, in 2021, Clay joined New World Medical as the Head of US Sales.
Clay Johnson holds a Master of Science degree in Health Systems from Rutgers University. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance & Economics from the University of Nevada, Reno. No specific start or end dates were provided for either educational experience.
