Vanessa Crespo

Counselor & Advocate at New York City Anti-Violence Project

Vanessa Victoria Crespo has extensive experience in advocacy and outreach within the community, currently serving as a Counselor & Advocate and Client Advocacy Specialist at the New York City Anti-Violence Project since February 2014. As a Founding Member of the Trans Women of Color Collective since 2013, Vanessa plays a pivotal role in supporting marginalized populations. Previous positions include Research Assistant at the Center for HIV/AIDS Education Studies & Training (CHEST) and Peer Advisor at Henry Street Settlement, along with outreach roles at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center and The Ali Forney Center. Vanessa began a career in outreach at Washington Heights CORNER Project, having earned an Associate's degree in Computer Science from Columbia University in 2009.
