Bruce Sachais

Bruce Sachais, MD, Ph.D. is the Chief Medical Officer for The New York Blood Center. He also serves as the Medical Director for the Blood Bank of Delmarva and is a Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College.

After receiving his BA in Chemistry from Lehigh University, he earned his MD/Ph.D. (Neuroscience) from Washington University in St. Louis. He completed his clinical pathology residency and his fellowship in transfusion and apheresis medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he remained as faculty, attaining the rank of Associate Professor before moving to New York.
