Barbara Mele

Barbara Mele is a seasoned floral design professional with over 23 years of experience in the industry. Currently serving as a Floral Design Educator at the New York Botanical Garden since September 2021, Barbara has also held various floral design roles since July 2020 and managed Posies Florist from September 2022 to September 2023. Prior experience includes Operations Director & Teacher at FlowerSchool NY, Owner of Gatherings Floral Design, and Floral Designer & Event Production Manager at Starbright Floral Design, where leadership skills were honed. Barbara's journey in floristry began at Rooster Flowers, where foundational skills were developed. Barbara holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Fordham University.
