Sam Schmerler

Sam Schmerler is an accomplished fundraising professional with extensive experience in individual giving and leadership gifts. Since July 2019, Sam has served as the Associate Vice President for Individual Giving and previously as the Senior Director of Leadership Gifts at the New York Botanical Garden. Prior to this role, Sam held the position of Assistant Director of Principal Gifts at the American Museum of Natural History from May 2014 to July 2019. Sam's career began at Harvard University as a Curatorial Fellow at The Arnold Arboretum from June 2011 to May 2012. Sam earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and American/United States Studies/Civilization from Brown University.
