Allan Avidano

Program Manager, Concord High School at NEW YORK CENTER FOR INTERPERSONAL DEVELOPMENT INC

Allan Avidano is currently the Program Manager at Concord High School with the New York Center for Interpersonal Development Inc. Allan has been working with youth in some capacity for over 6 years. Allan's previous position was as a Preparing Youth for Adulthood Specialist with the Seamen's Society for Children and Families from December of 2007 to May of 2013. In this role, Allan was responsible for counseling and assisting young adults in fulfilling their educational and vocational needs - whether that be finding appropriate career training services, suitable colleges or universities, or alternative educational plans depending on need. Allan also advised college students in all aspects of their academic career - from the application process and financial aid, to on campus housing and extra-curricular activities. Furthermore, Allan has experience working with foreign consulates, embassies, USCIS, and immigration attorneys in securing legal residency for clients. This experience has also allowed him to aid clients in obtaining personal documents including green cards/citizenship, birth certificates, social security numbers, state ID's, and driver's permits/licenses. Lastly, while working with the Seamen's Society for Children and Families, Allan also coordinated and presented monthly independent living skills workshops for foster teens, managed a paid internship program, and planned and chaperoned trips including educational outings and weekend retreats.

Allan Avidano graduated with a Master's of Education from St. John's University in the field of Mental Health Counseling/Counselor. Allan also has a Certificate for English Language Teaching to Adults from Cambridge University. Their Bachelor's Degree is in Literature/ Theirtory from St. John's University, New York City. Allan also did Study Abroad at the University of Galway.
