Joanna Thomas has extensive experience in research and policy within criminal justice and victim services. Currently serving as Senior Research Practice Coordinator at the New York City Criminal Justice Agency since December 2019, Joanna has held various roles including Research Practice Coordinator and Junior Research Analyst. Previous positions include Forensic Associate at PMHCC, Inc., and Research and Policy Associate at the National Center for Victims of Crime. Joanna started their career as a Grant Research and Development Assistant at The Mended Hearts, Inc., and also has experience as a Tutor at Beaumont Juvenile Correction Center and as a Legislative Intern for New Jersey Senator Jim Whelan. Joanna holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Virginia and a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Drexel University.
