Awa Sissako is a consultant at Nycers since November 2023, focusing on the NYC Civil Service system through job description creation, recruitment monitoring, and candidate interview facilitation. Prior experience includes serving as a Recruitment Coordinator at La'Dorch HomeCare, where Awa scheduled presentations, assisted applicants with onboarding, and engaged in community outreach. Awa's background also encompasses roles as a Patient Care Assistant at Elara Caring, providing compassionate patient support, and as a Fellow at both Braven and America Needs You, participating in leadership and career development programs for first-generation college students. In earlier roles, Awa developed technical skills through participation in a coding program at Techie Youth and worked in customer service positions at Chick-fil-A and The Halal Guys. Awa is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at CUNY City College of New York, expected to graduate in 2025.
