Jacob Berman

Jacob Berman currently serves as the Assistant Director of Social and Community Services at the New York City Independent Budget Office, leading a team of five analysts and managing the hiring process with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion. With experience as a Volunteer Consultant for Kolkata Sanved since 2013, Jacob contributes to organizational reports and policy refinement for NGOs. Previously, Jacob worked as a Research Analyst at the Center for Innovation through Data Intelligence within the NYC Office of the Mayor, where responsibilities included translating policy research into actionable strategies, supporting the city's COVID response, and managing multi-agency research projects. Jacob holds a Master of Public Administration in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management from NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and a Bachelor's degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, as well as International Development and Conflict Management from the University of Maryland.
