Timothy McKernan

Timothy McKernan currently serves as an Attorney in the General Counsel's Office specializing in Real Estate at the NYC School Construction Authority since August 2023. Prior experience includes roles as Assistant General Counsel at the New York City Department of Buildings from December 2016 to August 2023 and Assistant Corporation Counsel in the Contracts and Real Estate Division at the New York City Law Department from September 2012 to December 2016. Additional legal experience includes a Fellowship in the Legal Counsel Division, a Judicial Internship with Federal Magistrate Judge Debra C. Freeman in 2011, and a Summer Clerk position at the Virginia Capital Representation Resource Center in 2010. Timothy's early career involved work as a Litigation Paralegal at Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP from 2006 to 2008. Timothy holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law (2012) and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Archaeology from the University of Virginia (2006).
