New York Civil Liberties Union
Bernadette Rabuy serves as a Policy Counsel at the New York Civil Liberties Union since July 2025. Previously, Bernadette worked as a Trial Attorney in the Homicide/Major Crime Defense Unit at New York County Defender Services from September 2019 to June 2025, supporting senior attorneys and representing clients in serious criminal cases. Prior experience includes a role as a Senior Policy Analyst at the Prison Policy Initiative, where Bernadette focused on criminal justice reform and developed national messaging strategies. Additional internships with the Southern Poverty Law Center, Prison Law Office, and other organizations contributed to Bernadette's expertise in legal research, civil rights, and criminal justice advocacy. Bernadette holds a J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles - School of Law and a B.A. in Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley.
