Erik Lane is currently an Assistant Professor of Law and Special Advisor to the Dean at New York Law School, a position held since January 2023. Prior to this, Erik was a Senior Litigation Associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP from October 2019 to January 2023 and served as a Litigation Associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP from October 2015 to September 2019. Erik's early career included roles such as Bartender at Barcade® and Café Colette, as well as a Legal Intern at the New York City Law Department and a Judicial Intern at the Chambers of the Honorable Anne T. Pfau. In academia, Erik contributed to New York Law School's Law Review as Editor-in-Chief and was actively involved in teaching and mentoring students. Erik earned a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from New York Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Business from Drake University.
