Ashley Smestad

Ashley Smestad has a strong background in graphic design and art direction. Ashley most recently worked as the Deputy Art Director at New York Magazine starting in August 2021. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Designer at Vanity Fair from May 2019 to August 2021. Ashley has also served as an Art Director at Village Voice from July 2016 to February 2019 and as a Senior Designer at Billboard from November 2012 to July 2016. Ashley began their career as a Designer at Bonnier Corporation from September 2010 to July 2012. Ashley also gained valuable experience through internships, including roles as a Graphic Design Intern at Torito Media and Casiano Communications, where they worked on designing layouts and creating advertisements. Additionally, Ashley served as the Design Editor and Staff Photographer at The Daily Orange, the student-run newspaper at Syracuse University, from August 2006 to May 2008.

Ashley Smestad attended the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University from 2006 to 2010. Ashley pursued a degree in Graphic Design and specialized in Public Communications during their time there.
