Joyce C Tang has extensive work experience in the media industry. Joyce C is currently the Editorial Director, Audience at New York Magazine, a position they have held since April 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Executive Managing Editor at Gizmodo Media Group from April 2019 to April 2020, where they oversaw editorial operations and strategy for the network's multiple sites. Joyce C also held the position of Deputy Managing Editor at Gizmodo Media Group from October 2017 to April 2019.

Before joining Gizmodo Media Group, Tang worked at Fusion Media Group as the Managing Editor for Fusion & Splinter from January 2015 to September 2017. In this role, they led the relaunch of Fusion's website and managed editorial schedules and workflows. Joyce C also served as the deputy to Splinter's Editor-in-Chief.

Tang's previous experience includes a role as Ideas Editor at Time Magazine from October 2013 to January 2015 and various positions at Newsweek and The Daily Beast, including Culture Editor, Deputy iPad Editor, Outreach Editor, and Reporter/Homepage Editor. Joyce C also worked as an Editorial Fellow at Mother Jones and as a Reporter at Palo Alto Weekly.

Tang began their career as a Production Editor at Annual Reviews from March 2005 to December 2007.

Throughout their career, Tang has demonstrated strong leadership and management skills, overseeing large teams and collaborating with various departments. Joyce C has also been involved in relaunching websites, planning long-term strategies, and managing editorial schedules.

Joyce C Tang holds a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University - Graduate School of Journalism. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English & Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
