Gary A. Padmore has a diverse work experience in the field of music education and community engagement. Gary A. has held various positions at different organizations. In 2002, they worked as a Mentor/Teacher for the Arts Conservatory Program at the Police Athletic League until 2008. Gary A. then joined the Brooklyn Philharmonic as the Manager of School Programs from 2007 to 2011. In 2009, they worked as a Music and Drill Instructor at Walt Whitman High School until 2012. In 2011, they worked as a Teaching Artist at the Queens Museum of Art and as an Interim Director of Education at the Brooklyn Philharmonic until 2012. From 2010 to 2013, they served as an Adjunct Lecturer at Queens College. In 2011, they also joined the Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) as the Director of Education and Community, where they worked until 2018. During their time at OSL, they were responsible for managing the administrative team, budgeting, and securing contributed income revenue for educational programming. From 2012 to 2015, they worked as the Associate Director of Programs at Midori & Friends. Gary A. then joined the New York Philharmonic in 2018, initially as the Director of Education and Community Engagement, and later as the Vice President, Education and Community Engagement.

Gary A. Padmore's education history includes a Bachelor of Music degree in Trumpet Performance from Queens College. Gary A. also obtained an Advanced Certification in Music Education from the same institution. Additionally, they pursued a Master's degree in Music Performance from The New School.
