Luke Cissell

Teaching Artist at New York Philharmonic

Luke Cissell is a dedicated Teaching Artist at the New York Philharmonic, where Luke has inspired young composers since November 2013 through innovative lesson planning and personal mentorship. Concurrently, Luke serves as the Music Department Faculty and Strings Program Lead at The Calhoun School, designing and implementing a comprehensive strings program while facilitating an LGBTQ+ affinity group. Luke's extensive experience as a composer and recording artist through Silver Squid Music includes a wide array of musical endeavors, complemented by contributions as faculty at the University of Louisville and coaching roles at prestigious institutions like The Juilliard School. A co-founder of Works & Days Quarterly and a former member of The Hudson Quartet, Luke holds a BA in History from Princeton University.
