Shivaz Chopra

Shivaz Chopra, P.E. has a diverse work experience starting in 2006 with an internship at ABB Inc. Shivaz then worked as a trainee at BBMB- Govt. of India Hydro Power Plant in 2006-2007. In 2008, they worked as a TA and researcher at the University of Texas at Austin until 2010. From 2009-2011, they were an engineer at ERCOT and then moved to Texas RE, NERC, where they worked as an engineer until 2011. From 2009-2010, they also worked on projects for EPRI as an investigator. Since 2011, Shivaz has been with the New York Power Authority, starting as a program manager and later being promoted to Director, Reliability Standards and Compliance, Utility Operations. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Director, Reliability Standards and Compliance.

Shivaz Chopra, P.E. holds a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management, General from Pace University - Lubin School of Business. Shivaz is also a certified NYS Professional Engineer.
