Michael Hearn has extensive work experience in the tech industry. Michael began their career at NBC Universal in 2006, where they worked as a News Editor for two local websites. Michael was responsible for writing news, entertainment, and lifestyle content and implementing feature enhancements, such as social-sharing links. In 2007, they transitioned into the role of Advertising Operations Specialist, managing online sales initiatives and producing original design and creative for clients. From 2008 to 2012, Michael served as the Lead Product Manager for NBC Universal's locally-owned station websites, overseeing their development and performance.

In 2012, Michael joined New York Public Radio, where they held various roles over the years. Michael started as a Product Manager, focusing on product development and user experience for their websites. Michael worked on wnyc.org, wqxr.org, and radiolab.org. Later, they became a Software Engineer, contributing to the development of their platforms. Most recently, they held the position of Senior Software Engineer, and eventually, they became the Lead Full Stack Engineer.

Michael Hearn attained their Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems from The Ohio State University, where they studied from 2002 to 2006.
