Sean McCafferty

Sean McCafferty serves as the Academy Director for New York Red Bulls since July 2019 and previously held the same position at Barca Residency Academy from December 2016 to July 2019. With a robust background in soccer development, McCafferty was the Technical Director at Continental FC from January 2013 to December 2016, overseeing a team of directors and managing over 70 travel teams while developing the club's technical philosophy and curriculum. Earlier experience includes serving as the Director of Coaching at Spirit United Soccer Club from July 2005 to July 2013, managing over 30 coaches and implementing the club's curriculum, and running the United Sports Soccer Academy program from June 2001 to July 2009. McCafferty began their career as a professional football player, competing in leagues such as the Irish Premiership League and the League of Ireland Premier Division, following a youth career at Peterborough United Football Club. McCafferty studied at Huntington College in the UK from 1994 to 1996.
