Hennessy Reyes has a diverse work experience in the public service and political affairs sectors. Hennessy currently works as a Kriegel Fellow at the CUNY Institute for State & Local Governance. Previously, they served as the Deputy Chief of Staff and Director of Community Affairs at the New York State Senate. Hennessy also worked as a Community Affairs Representative at the same organization. Hennessy has experience in political affairs from their role as a Political Affairs Intern at Planned Parenthood of Greater New York. Additionally, they have worked in project management at the New York City Mayor's Office of Operations.

Hennessy Reyes completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and another Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from the City University of New York-Herbert H. Lehman College in 2016. Prior to that, they obtained an Advanced Regents Diploma from Gregorio Luperon High School for Science And Mathematics in 2009, where they focused on Science and Mathematics.
