Senator Leroy Comrie

Senator Leroy Comrie currently serves as a New York State Senator, a position held since January 2015. Prior to this role, Comrie worked as a Special Assistant to the Borough President at Queens Borough Hall in 2014 and as a Council Member in the New York City Council from April 1982 to December 2013. First elected to the City Council after serving on the local Community School Board in District 29, Comrie has over 30 years of public sector experience and has held leadership roles, including Deputy Majority Leader. Comrie actively advocates for resources and opportunities for the community and the Borough of Queens, leveraging extensive knowledge of city government to be an effective voice in local governance. Comrie is an alumnus of the University of Bridgeport.
