Symra Brandon

Director Of Community Affairs at New York State Senate

Symra Brandon has extensive experience in public service. Symra began their career as a City Council Member for the City of Yonkers from 1992 to 1993. Symra then served as the City Council Minority Leader from 1994 to 2003. Following their time in Yonkers, Brandon worked as the Assistant to the County Executive for Westchester County from 1998 to 2006. In 2008, they joined the New York State Senate as the Director of Community Affairs.

Symra Brandon has a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from Pace University, a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Hunter College School of Social Work, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from Morgan State University. Symra also holds an MPA degree from Pace University.
