Chief Communications Strategist at New York State Bar Association

Susan DeSantis has a diverse work experience in the field of journalism and communications. Susan started their career at Asbury Park Press, Inc. as a State Editor/General Assignment Editor, where they displayed a collaborative approach to news writing. Susan later joined The Record/part of the USA Today network as an Assignment Editor responsible for breaking news, higher education, and K-12 coverage. During this time, they constantly updated the website and attracted a record number of viewers. After that, they joined NY Law Journal, published by ALM, as the Deputy Editor-in-Chief. In this role, they searched for the latest trends in the state and federal court systems and found stories that resonated with the readers. Susan then transitioned to Rutgers University as a North Jersey Media Group Teaching Fellow, where they taught Writing and Editing for Print and also worked on a website about the transformation of the state's newspaper industry. Currently, they are serving as the Chief Communications Strategist at the New York State Bar Association.

Susan DeSantis holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs from Syracuse University. In addition, they obtained a certification as a Teacher of High School English from the State of New Jersey in June 2010.
