Melanie Greene

Director of Programs & Artist Advocacy at New Yorkers for Culture & Arts

Melanie Greene is a movement artist, writer, podcast host, and arts administrator swirling on the edge of impossible, swimming in the sea of the minority. She has presented work around New York City and has received generous support from Marble House Project, Bogliasco Fellowship, Brooklyn Arts Council, New York Live Arts, MANCC, Brooklyn Studios for Dance, and Dancing While Black. Greene has contributed written works to The Dance Enthusiast and Dance Magazine, and is currently a co-host of the Dance Union Podcast and 2018/20 Movement Research Artist in Residence. A southern belle turned Brooklynite, Greene holds a special place for buttery biscuits, country ham, and collard greens.
