Michelle Taylor

Michelle Taylor is a highly experienced legal professional with a career spanning over three decades in various roles within the New Zealand Defence Force and other legal institutions. Currently serving as a Commander in the RNZNR, Michelle has held significant positions including Project Manager for Courts of Inquiry, Deputy Director of Defence Legal Services, and Assistant Director of Legal Services for the Northern Region. Prior experience encompasses roles such as Judicial Officer at the District Court, Senior Legal Counsel for Operations at the New Zealand Customs Service, and Senior Investigator at Ombudsman New Zealand. With a strong foundation as a Navy Lawyer and Air Force Legal Officer, Michelle holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Otago and has educational credentials from St Cuthbert's College and Wesley Intermediate.
