Sea Safety Instructor And Mentor at New Zealand Defence Force

Shane KENNEDY has extensive maritime experience, including 45 years at sea as a skipper in both national and international contexts. Currently serving with RNZN and Coastguard since 2022, Shane KENNEDY also has a long tenure in defense since 1977 as a sea safety instructor and mentor, responsible for the maintenance and training of sea-going personnel and equipment. From 2012 to 2020, Shane KENNEDY held the position of Divisional Coxn, CBE/RYA Instructor, and Skipper in the Royal New Zealand Navy, with qualifications including a Commercial Offshore Masters Certificate, RYA Offshore Yachtmaster qualification, and advanced instructor certifications. Earlier experience from 1977 to 2010 included training personnel in damage control and fire fighting, focusing on prevention and safety at sea. Education was completed at St Thomas of Canterbury from 1971 to 1975.
