Darryl Herron is a forest pathologist with extensive experience in pathogen diagnostics and research. Currently serving as the Pathogen Diagnostics and Collections Team Lead at Scion since April 2020, Darryl leads a team focused on forest pathogen research, including identification and management. As a PhD student at the University of Pretoria since January 2014, Darryl dedicates significant time to researching Fusarium in the commercial forestry sector of South Africa, while also managing the TPCP/CTHB Diagnostic Clinic. Darryl previously completed a Master’s degree studying Fusarium species diversity in South Africa and Colombia and holds a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, with honors, from the University of Pretoria.
