Callum Hames

Callum Hames is an experienced policy adviser currently serving as a Senior Policy Adviser in the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Policy Division at the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade since February 2016. Hames has held various significant positions, including Deputy Head of Mission/First Secretary/Senior Policy Adviser at the New Zealand Embassy in Cairo, and served in roles such as Adviser and Private Secretary in the Office of the Minister of Trade and Export Growth, as well as a Legal Adviser focusing on International Treaties and International Trade and Investment. Prior experience includes working as a Solicitor and Law Clerk at Minter Ellison Rudd Watts, specializing in general litigation, and undertaking internships in employment and corporate law. Hames holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) conjoint degree from the University of Auckland, completed between 2008 and 2013.
