New Zealand Foreign Affairs & Trade
Carl Reaich has extensive experience in international law and diplomacy, currently serving as the Chief International Legal Adviser and Manager of the Legal Division at the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade since November 2009. Previous roles include Ambassador to the European Union and NATO, Divisional Manager of the Consular Division, and Acting Permanent Representative to the United Nations. Reaich has held significant positions such as Deputy Permanent Representative to the World Trade Organisation and Deputy Head of Mission for the Netherlands and Norway. Prior work experience encompasses senior legal roles at Kensington Swan, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and the United Nations Compensation Commission. Education includes a Master of Laws (First Class Honours) from Victoria University of Wellington and a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) from the University of Canterbury.
