Tara D'Sousa is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in international development, public health, and social services. Currently serving as Senior Adviser for Inclusive Development Gender at the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade, Tara leads initiatives promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls, particularly in the Pacific region. Previous roles include acting as Development Counsellor at the New Zealand Embassy in Jakarta, where responsibilities encompassed managing the New Zealand Aid Programme in Indonesia, and serving as High Commissioner to Niue. With a strong background in health policy and social services, Tara has held leadership positions in various organizations, including Regional Public Health and Social Service Providers Aotearoa. Tara holds a Master's Degree in Family and Community Services from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and a Bachelor of Science from St Josephs College.
