David Jackways

David Jackways has over 18 years of work experience in engineering and project management. David is currently serving as the Engineering Process Project Director at KiwiRail since November 2022. Prior to this, they held the role of Business Strategy Manager - South Island at KiwiRail from November 2020 to November 2022. Before joining KiwiRail, David worked at Holmes Consulting (NZ) as a Senior Project Engineer (Civil & Roading) from April 2018 to October 2018 and as a Project Engineer (Civil & Roading) from August 2017 to April 2018. David also worked at Downer New Zealand as a Civil Engineer from October 2016 to July 2017 and as a Technical and Estimating Manager from September 2015 to September 2016. Earlier in their career, David worked at Road Structure Services as Contract/Asset Management from September 2014 to September 2015, and at Downer New Zealand as a Department Manager from April 2012 to September 2014 and as a Contract Engineer from October 2007 to April 2012. David started their career at MWH New Zealand Limited as a Transportation Engineer from December 2003 to September 2007.

David Jackways obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Canterbury, completing their studies between 2000 and 2003.
